In recent years, across Asia, there has been a growing emphasis on "community" when addressing issues related to people's livelihoods. Projects of all scales are flourishing, with diverse methodologies and interpretations taking shape in different cities, each developing distinct practice models suited to local contexts.
At the same time, new forms of practice are springing up within communities. Grassroots initiatives led by individuals or small groups are growing rapidly. We see communities transforming. A new "Community Studies" is taking shape.
Linking community building practitioners across Asia to foster in-depth sharing and exchange, and to build a community of practice.
- How can we document and organise practice experiences from different places into a more systematic body of knowledge on community building?
Facilitating cross-city visits across Asia to share community building experiences and learn innovative approaches together.
- How can we facilitate mutual learning and exchange among practitioners who are deeply engaged in their local communities?
Documenting community building knowledge from different regions, developing an open-source resource library, and empowering more practitioners in the field.
-How can we empower more practitioners within communities to drive deeper, more meaningful practice?

Co-learning flows both ways.
We have hosted partners from Chengdu, Shanghai, and Greater Bay Area cities interested in Hong Kong's social services and civic engagement, enriching everyone's understanding of community building.
Moving forward, we endeavour to deepen cross-city co-learning—not just exchanging knowledge but co-creating solutions, combining regional strengths to transform insights into community innovation.
